What this site is

Rebate Hunter HK compares Hong Kong credit cards using the banks' published terms and the spending you enter. It is general information, not financial advice. We are not a bank, a lender or a licensed adviser, and we do not apply for any product on your behalf.

Check before you apply

Rates, caps and offers change often and may be out of date or wrong here. The bank's own terms are the final word. Read them before you apply, and borrow only what you can repay.

How cards are ranked

Rankings come only from the rebate each card would pay on the spending you enter. Some links may earn us a commission from a bank or comparison platform. If one does, we say so next to it, and commissions never affect the order: cards that pay us nothing are ranked the same way.

Personal Information Collection Statement (accounts)

You can use Rebate Hunter HK without an account. If you open one, this is what we collect and why. Rebate Hunter HK is run by Aemula Atelier ("we"), which is responsible for your personal data.

• What we collect: your email address; the cards you save in My cards (which cards, and a category where a card needs one) and whether "Use my cards" is ticked; the dates you opened the account, agreed to this statement and last signed in; and, for each signed-in browser, when the sign-in started and ends.
• Why: to let you sign in, keep your cards so you can use them on any device, and keep the service secure (for example, limiting how many sign-in codes can be asked for). We do not use your data for direct marketing, and we will not unless you separately agree.
• Is it required? An email address is required to open an account, because we send your sign-in code to it. Without one you can still use every part of the site except My cards.
• Who it goes to: only the companies that run the service for us: Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting and database) and Resend, Inc. (sends the sign-in emails). Their servers may be outside Hong Kong, including in the United States. We do not sell, rent or share your data with banks, card issuers or advertisers.
• How long we keep it: until you delete your account, or 24 months after your last sign-in, whichever comes first. Sign-in codes are kept for 10 minutes and sign-ins for 30 days, and only as one-way hashes. Rate-limit records hold a hash of your email or IP address for one hour.
• Your rights: under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance you may ask to see and correct your personal data. In your account you can download everything we hold (Download my data), change your cards, and delete your account at any time. For anything else, write to rebatehunter.hk@gmail.com.

Your data

• The spending figures you type are worked out in your own browser. They are never sent to us or anyone else, signed in or not.
• Signed in, the site keeps one cookie, __Host-rh_session, which only says that this browser is signed in. It is strictly necessary for the account and is removed when you sign out. We set no other cookies.
• Your browser remembers your theme and, on the phone page, your figures and filters (its local storage). You can clear them in your browser's settings at any time.
• We use no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
• Security: sign-in uses one-time codes, so there is no password to steal; codes and sign-ins are stored only as one-way hashes; all traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). We never ask for card numbers, bank log-ins or anything that could make a payment, and an account cannot hold them.
• Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads (Google's privacy policy). Our web host keeps standard request logs, such as IP address and time, for security.
• If we ever have a data breach that affects your account, we will tell you by email and report it to the Privacy Commissioner where appropriate.

Accounts

• Accounts are free. You can delete yours at any time in your account, and everything it holds is deleted at once.
• We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service, for example by trying to get round its security or by sending automated requests.
• We do not guarantee that the service or your saved cards will always be available. Your saved cards are a convenience: you can always add them again.

The text, card data compilation, design and software of this site are © 2026 Aemula Atelier. You may use the site for your own purposes and link to it. You may not copy, republish, scrape, frame or reuse its content, data or code without written permission.

Other names

Bank, card and payment names belong to their owners. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Liability

The site is provided as it is. As far as Hong Kong law allows, we are not liable for any loss from using it or relying on it. These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong.
